Very Easy — logic-grid deduction puzzle
Six volunteer teachers each taught one old knot to visitors on the harbour square on the last evening of heritage week.
It was the last evening of heritage week, and the harbour square was full of long tables and baskets of bright silk cord. Six volunteer teachers had come to pass on an old craft: tying fancy knots, the kind people once hung from fans, belts and doorways for good luck. Each teacher took a table and taught a single knot, and visitors young and old sat down to give it a try. Some knots were quick and easy, and crowds gathered round. Others needed patient fingers, and only a few people stayed to the end. When the lanterns came on over the water, each table counted how many had learned its knot, and everyone went home with a little knot in a bright colour.
