Robots on the Big Board

Easy — logic-grid deduction puzzle

Four engineers each sent a robot into one event, and the judges put every robot's points up on the big board.

It was medley day at the robot games, and the arena was packed to the roof. Four engineers had each brought one robot, and each robot entered just one event. The morning session held three events: the sprint, the relay and the hurdles. The afternoon session was kept for a single event, the dance, and not one person in the crowd went home early. Meilin chewed a pencil all day long. Haoran kept a screwdriver tucked behind one ear. Xiulan talked to the robot as if it were a puppy, and Wei could not stop grinning. When the last robot took its bow, the judges put every robot's points up on the big board, and the crowd cheered for each one.
