Tea Before Lights-Out — Daily puzzle for 2026-10-02

Medium — logic-grid deduction puzzle

Help the host sort out the hurried notes and match each passenger to a bunk, a tea and a bag tag.

The sleeper coach rolled on through the dark. Before lights-out, the host carried a cup of tea to each of the four passengers, and no two of them asked for the same kind. Every bag had a tag with its own little picture on it, so the host could tell whose bag was whose. The bunks ran in a line, counted from the front of the coach, by the driver, to the back. But the host had scribbled the notes in a hurry, and now they needed sorting out.

Clues

  1. Walking from the front of the coach to the back, the host came to Avery before Jonah, and to Jonah before Priya.
  2. Miles slept farther back than both Priya and whoever drank chamomile tea.
  3. The passenger with the moon tag slept behind whoever drank chamomile tea, but in front of whoever drank peppermint tea.
  4. The cup of peppermint tea went to a bunk nearer the front than the cup of lavender tea.
  5. The passengers with the compass tag and the moon tag slept in bunks next to each other.
  6. Only one of these was true: Priya had the feather tag, or Miles had the compass tag.
