How it works

One clue at a time

This is one clue from a free puzzle in the game. Read it, then watch the squares it settles.

The chalked number on Zoe's panel and the one on the panel painted mint added up to seven.

Panel / Paint color
coralnavymintocher
willow
fern
reed
moss
Volunteer / Paint color
coralnavymintocher
Iris
Caleb
Zoe
Marcus

The clue above settles this square.

Clue 4 is the clever one. Zoe's panel is reed (3) or moss (4), and her number plus the mint panel's number makes seven. Only 3 and 4 add up to seven, so mint went on whichever of reed and moss Zoe did not paint. That means neither willow nor fern was painted mint, and Zoe did not use mint.

That is the whole method. Each clue settles a few squares, and those squares make the next clue useful.
