Account Deletion

Procedure

Signed in, in the app or on the web: the profile screen offers Delete account. Confirmation is by typed entry, and deletion takes effect immediately.

Without the app, or after uninstalling it: at gridigma.com/delete, on entry of the email address held on the account, a deletion link is sent to that address. The link is valid for one hour, may be used once, and requires confirmation before deletion.

Where no account exists: the profile screen erases the data posted from that device — its times, its progress and its analytics records. No email route exists for a device without an account.

Scope of deletion

Deletion is immediate and permanent. The following are removed in a single transaction:

• the account: email address, password, and any linked Google or Apple sign-in;
• the player profile: nickname and selected flag;
• posted leaderboard times and daily results — the times are removed from every board and the players ranked behind them move up;
• puzzle progress, saved runs, best times, and hints and checks used;
• gameplay analytics records, including the record of each puzzle completed;
• friends, blocked players, blocks set by other players, and any nickname report filed by or naming the user;
• likes, applause given to other players, and dismissed notices;
• subscription and entitlement records, and any pack guest admission;
• notification tokens, switches and history;
• every unused verification, password-reset, deletion and email-change link issued to the user, which cease to function.

Where the account was linked to Apple, Fabervant also requests revocation of the sign-in grant, ending the connection between the Apple ID and GRIDIGMA at Apple.

Data not covered by deletion

• Another player’s record of a shared game. Where a completed duel was hosted, the result remains with the other player. The deleted user’s name is removed from it.
• Aggregate counts. Figures such as the number of players holding a badge are tallies rather than personal data and are recalculated without the deleted account.
• Messages already sent. Email that has left Fabervant’s systems resides in the recipient’s inbox and in the mail provider’s records, and is outside the scope of deletion.
• Records required by law. Payment records are retained for accounting and tax purposes for the period the law requires and do not form part of the account.
• Operational database backups. Backups are taken on a schedule and retained for a limited period. A backup taken before a deletion contains the rows as they then stood. A backup is not used to restore a deleted account, and a restored backup is reconciled against deletions made since it was taken.

Effect on a subscription

Deletion does not cancel a subscription or stop it renewing. A subscription is cancelled where it was bought: in App Store account settings, in Google Play subscriptions, or by written request for a subscription bought on this website. Cancellation precedes deletion.

Irreversibility

Deletion cannot be reversed and the account is not retained in any form. Registration with the same email address creates a new and empty account, without progress, times or streak.
